The 21st century is an era of information and knowledge economy. With the development of social progress, the development of archives, and the increasing needs of people’s culture, the archives of the 21st century will become an important information center for the country and society and a cultural square for the public. In order to meet the needs of the times and improve the efficiency of archives in facing public services, the archives in the 21st century are open, inclusive, interconnected and intelligent. From an institutional point of view, the archives of the 21st century should integrate existing resources and form a system of institutions such as document centers, exhibition centers, information centers, research centers, reception centers, custody and service centers that are both different and interconnected; From the functional point of view, the archives of the 21st century broke through the traditional concepts, traditional models, and traditional systems of archives management, realized management automation, information networking, and multi-carriers of collections, and strived to realize the socialization of archives services.
